Spheromni 0.1.0 — controlled beta
Getting in
You sign in with Google or GitHub. There is no password to create and none is stored. Before you reach the workspace you are asked once to confirm you are an adult, and — while the beta is invite-only — to enter an invite code. A code is issued by Spheromni staff and handed to you directly; nothing is emailed, because Spheromni sends no email and no notification of any kind.
The workspace
Spheromni opens as a three-dimensional workspace in the browser, with windows you place in space rather than a page you scroll. On hardware or browsers where the 3D scene cannot run, it falls back to a plain window layout that does the same things.
The applications in this release are Files, a text editor, Notes, Tasks, Calendar, a calculator, a clock, Store, Settings, Voice, People, Community, the companion, and — for staff accounts — Admin. They are all built by Spheromni; there is no third-party application and no way to submit one.
Your files
You can create folders and files, edit text, move things, and put things in the trash and take them out again. Files are text only in this release, up to one megabyte each. You can connect your own Google Drive read-only, and its files appear alongside; their contents stay in your Google account.
You can share a file or a folder with a named person and take that access away again. There is no public link and no way to publish a file to the open internet.
Working offline
Spheromni installs as an app on your device. When it cannot reach the server it keeps working with the text of files you have opened, holds the edits you make, and sends them when the connection returns. If an edit and the server disagree you are shown both and choose. Signing out deletes that local copy, and tells you first how many unsent edits would go with it.
Community
The community is separate and you are not in it until you create a profile. Posts, replies, reactions, follows and groups exist there, and nothing from your private workspace ever appears in it. Reports are read by a person; there is no automated moderation.
Voice and the companion
Voice is push-to-talk and uses your browser's own speech recognition — Spheromni never receives audio, only the text your browser returns, and commands are matched against a fixed list. The companion is a small animated character; it is deterministic code, it does not understand you, and there is no artificial intelligence anywhere in this product.
Your data and your choices
Settings, under Privacy, shows what Spheromni holds about you, every consent you have given with its history, every device you are signed in on, a download of everything held about your account, and a control that deletes the account outright.
Two optional signals ship off and stay off until you turn them on, separately: performance telemetry (startup time and a frame-rate band), and error reports (what kind of failure happened, the message, and the path of the page). Turning either off deletes what it already collected.
Feedback
Your account page has a feedback form. If somebody answers, the answer appears on that page — there is nowhere else it could appear, and nothing will tell you it arrived.
What this release does not do
Named here rather than left to be discovered: nothing can be bought and no payment can be made; no email or notification of any kind is ever sent; there are no backups, so deletion is permanent and data loss is possible; nothing monitors the product or raises an alert; and there is no artificial intelligence in it. Terms for the beta
Beta participation is covered by the Beta Terms and the Beta Privacy Notice, which supplement the Terms of Service and the Privacy Notice. All four are drafts prepared for review by qualified counsel and none of them is in effect.
