Change history:
- Version 1.0 — first draft, written at Milestone 19 to cover the product as a whole rather than the community alone. Not in effect.
What this covers
This policy applies to everything you do with Spheromni: private files, notes, tasks and calendar entries; files you share with named people; anything you post in the community; and any application you install or, in future, publish. It forms part of the Terms of Service. The Community Guidelines add rules specific to the community; where both apply, both apply.
How this is actually enforced — read this first
Nothing you keep privately is scanned, read or monitored. There is no content scanner, no hash matching, no classifier and no automated enforcement anywhere in this product, and the administration window has no control that could open a user's files — that is a design property, not a policy promise. Private content therefore comes to Spheromni's attention only if somebody you shared it with reports it, or through a lawful demand.
Community content is different, because it is published: it can be reported by any member, and a person reads the report and decides.
This means the rules below are rules you are asked to keep, backed by the consequences in the last section, rather than rules a system detects. Saying otherwise would be the easier sentence and the false one.
Do not break the law
Do not use Spheromni to do anything unlawful where you are, or to help anybody else do so, or to store material whose possession is itself unlawful.
Child safety
Material that sexualises a minor is prohibited absolutely: in the community, in a shared file, and in private storage. There is no context in which it is permitted and no appeal against its removal. Spheromni is adults-only and has no age-appropriate mode, which is a reason for this rule to be stricter rather than looser.
Do not harm people
No harassment, stalking, threats, or targeting a person with abuse or sustained unwanted attention. No publishing private information about somebody without their consent. No content attacking or demeaning people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, disability or serious disease. No glorification of violence and no content encouraging people to hurt themselves or others.
Do not deceive people
No impersonating another person, another organisation, or Spheromni itself. No phishing content and no deceptive links. No fraudulent or deliberately misleading claims about what an application does or what a permission is for.
Respect other people's rights
Do not store, share or publish content you do not have the rights to. Offer for sale, or wrap into an application, only work you made or are licensed and authorised to distribute — including the licences on any assets you use, and including any external site or progressive web app you point an application at.
Do not attack the platform
Do not probe, scan, overload or attempt unauthorised access to Spheromni, its infrastructure, or another account. Do not circumvent a rate limit, a quota, a permission check, a suspension or a moderation decision. Do not upload or distribute malicious code. Do not scrape or bulk-extract other people's content, and do not automate the product in ways that degrade it for anyone else.
Security research done in good faith is welcome; contact [PRIVACY CONTACT — TBD] before testing anything that could affect another account or the availability of the service.
Do not abuse shared surfaces
No spam: no repetitive, automated or bulk posting, and no using the community mainly to advertise something. No sending sharing invitations to people who did not ask for them. Community posting rates are limited per profile per day, and a tripped limit refuses the write and tells you so.
What happens if you break these rules
For community content: a report is read by a member of Spheromni staff who may dismiss it, remove the post or reply, issue a warning, suspend the profile for a fixed number of days, ban it, or reinstate one previously actioned. Each decision carries a written note shown to you word for word, each is recorded in the audit trail in the same operation as the decision, and each can be appealed once from inside the Community app.
For anything else: Spheromni may suspend or terminate an account. A suspension states its reason and its end date. Termination is recorded. There is no automated action of any kind, and there is no intermediate “flagging” system that watches your account.
Spheromni sends no email and no notification, so any outcome affecting you is shown in the product — in the Community app for a moderation decision, in Settings for anything about your account.
Reporting a breach
Report community content from the Community app, with the reason nearest to what is wrong. You are told the report was received and nothing more — not what was decided — which protects the person reported from learning who reported them.
For anything outside the community, write to [PRIVACY CONTACT — TBD]. There is no dedicated copyright complaint route in this build and the report reason list does not include copyright; that gap is recorded in the Terms of Service and in the legal review issue list rather than papered over here.
Changes
Changes are recorded as a new version in the change history above. This build sends no notice of a change and has no re-acceptance flow; both are tracked open items.
