Platform

Five layers. One tab.

Spheromni is one environment built in five layers. Some of them you can use today, some are still only the direction they are being built towards — and this page says plainly, layer by layer, which is which.

Layer 01

The spatial workspace

A persistent three-dimensional environment you sign into and move through — the ground every other layer stands on.

Today
A working 3D origin environment with orbit, pan, zoom and reset, a reduced-motion mode, and a full non-spatial fallback for keyboard and screen-reader use.
Direction
Designed to grow into a workspace that is effectively infinite and shaped entirely by how you arrange it, with objects anchored to places in the room.

Layer 02

Applications, in space

Software that opens as objects in your environment rather than as flat tabs competing for one rectangle.

Today
A real window manager: open, close, move, resize, minimise, maximise, fullscreen, focus and z-order, snap layouts, keyboard equivalents throughout, and layouts that survive a reload.
Direction
Intended to host a growing set of genuinely functional built-in apps — files, notes, calendar, settings — and, later, third-party ones.

Layer 03

A creator marketplace

A route for the people who build spatial apps and objects to put their work into other people's workspaces.

Today
Partly built, and only the first-party half. Spheromni ships with a built-in store: every app discloses, before you install it, exactly what it can reach from a closed, named permission vocabulary — nothing is granted silently — and every listing goes through an admin review before it is published. Seller onboarding is real now: any account can apply to become a seller, and staff verify, refuse, suspend and reinstate those applications, always with a written reason where something is taken away. What is still missing is the rest of the creator part of "creator marketplace": there is no way for anyone outside this project to submit an app, no pricing on anything, and no payment of any kind moves through the product today — so a verified seller cannot yet list anything or be paid.
Direction
Designed for creators to publish and distribute spatial apps and objects, with payments eventually part of that — a direction for the platform, not a current capability.

Layer 04

A social layer

Presence and sharing you opt into deliberately, rather than a feed that assumes you want an audience.

Today
Built, and opt-in twice over. Sharing: one file or folder at a time with a person you name by email address, as an editor or a viewer, revocable at any time; nothing is ever made public and no link grants access. Presence is off until you switch it on. And the community exists now, as a separate world you are in only if you create a profile there: a handle, people you choose to follow, posts and replies, groups, and moderation you can report to, block and mute around, and appeal to. The honest limits are the interesting part. You must be signed in to see any of it — there is no public community page and no search engine reads one. Feeds are recent-first and unranked; there is no recommendation of any kind. There are no direct messages. Spheromni sends no email and no notification about any of it, so an outcome appears only when you open the window. And there are no image uploads anywhere: the community is text and eight drawn avatar presets.
Direction
Intended to grow into shared spaces and co-presence, still opt-in rather than assumed, with privacy as the default rather than a setting you have to go and find — and with direct messages held back deliberately until the safety, abuse and privacy design behind them is finished.

Layer 05

A private personal workspace

The promise underneath every other layer: this space is yours, and it stays yours.

Today
Real authentication and session handling, versioned consent records, and performance telemetry that stays off unless you separately turn it on — and whose data is deleted if you turn it back off.
Direction
Designed to keep private-by-default intact as the platform grows, with explicit controls over anything that would ever leave your workspace.
